Oh NO!!!! Oh NO!!! Oh NO!!! That was my first thoughts this morning as I walked into my 8 year olds room. The kiddos had already left so school. My second thought, I am the worst Mom is the whole world...why can't I get the fact that there is a tooth fairy and she needs to come at night! I mean this isn't to hard. But it is... I have to wait for my lovely little girl to fall asleep. As well, as her brother whom shares the space with her. If it is unknown to you, my children don't sleep!!! They have genes that have affected the way they sleep. So, sometimes even when they have been in bed since eight, it's ten o'clock until they are actually non-responsive. My state of mind at ten o'clock is exhaustion and I want chocolate! Tiredness settings in and I have to admit I'm not a very coherent person! Add to it getting up and down with a sick 3 year old and the tooth is forgotten. Even if it came out right before bed. And she wrote the sweetest note! Oh, it's just horrible that I forgot!!! Now, I have a sweet friend who is the tooth fairy guru, she is fantastic. Sweet little notes, glitter sprinkled over the area. PERFECTION! Her children are going to have great memories. Mine are going to be like, oh, the tooth fairy she is a wreck she is ALWAYS late. And the money isn't even shiny, it has some kind of crud all over it because I dug it up from the bottom of my purse!!! LOL. Oh brother! And this is the thing...I love fairies...they are precious! We even have had fairy gardens. My girl's adore them! I have shattered their fairiness!
What happened:
I tried to make it up...I wrote a teeny tiny little note on glitter paper explaining why the tooth fairy was late...sprinkled it with fine gold glitter and left .50! I tried and I have to say it went over well. AND my money was shiny too. Do you think she will remember? UGH! Shannon
You are worth more than many sparrows...
Matthew 10:29-31
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

You sound just like me, which is one of the reasons I will probably skip the whole tooth fairy business! I'm pretty sure she would be late every time. Sounds like you did good in the end though! I don't remember anything from that young so unless you write it down she may not either.
ReplyDeletehahaha...Mandy I hope you are right!!!
