You are worth more than many sparrows...

Matthew 10:29-31

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

A Healthy Dose of CRAZY!!!

"Part of me is deeply conservative. Part of me is crazy." -- Luke Timothy Johnson

I am conservative...My Mother was wonderful about teaching me to dress modestly. I have had so many opportunities and mentors in my life that showed me what Christ like living looks like and what the consequence are for immoral behavior! Of course, we all make our mistakes which builds character. I never was a free spirit or rebellious teenager. I stuck close to my youth group and wanted to please my parents was a top priority. Here's the BUT....as I have grown in maturity and had some time to discover who I am as a person, I have a crazy side that I frequent regularly. I like a little crazy, my children have each brought a little crazy to my life. I discovered that I have a love for adventurer and independence. None of these are bad in the context of staying true to Christ. My conservative side emerges when I have to make moral decisions. My framework is based on the bible! I stick to that as closely as I humanly can.

Back to crazy...I love dancing around the house with my children, put on some Paul Simon, or Black Eyed Peas and move with it! The Chipett's singing, All the Single Ladies. The conservative comes in with watching the language and the lyrics of the songs. Eating brownies for breakfast, another crazy act that goes on around here. Dressing with individuality, let your attitude shine through! Tutus and flowery head bands! Funky songs, bold eye shadow. A "go for it" hair do! As long as we are covered and modest then we aren't harming anyone! We have fun with each other and love the creative spirit's that God gave us!

Some of my crazier ideas: I would like to pierce my nose, get a tattoo with a scripture, and some reality t.v.! To some of you these are extreme and I've lost my mind, to others you are laughing at me because this is so mild. But, it's my crazy. What is yours?

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
