Wow. Haven't been writing lately. I am enjoying my college class and Tuesday night bible study on God's Will. As well as talking to mentors about all the things I have been learning. It's been a bit overwhelming in that I have so many thoughts to share, that I'm not sure how to get them organized in my mind to share them on paper. Well, here is a thought. That has been floating about in my head recently. Has any one ever said to you, "I can't believe you?" Maybe it hits your ears like this.... I can't believe you got that tattoo, pierced your nose, colored your hair (THAT color), watched (that) movie, or watched that show! Now, by no means am I saying be tolerant or indulge in sin. I am totally for accountability and doing what is biblical. I'm just wanting all of us to take a minute and make sure we aren't condemning someones freedom of choice in things that aren't sinful, but rather allow an individual to have their own preferences and individuality. As well as creative expression. We have all been made in the image of Christ, and He made each one of us differently on purpose. Our challenge is to delight in one another, love as God loves , and sharpen each other. Proverbs 27:17 17. As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. It's important that when someone is sharing apart of themselves with us (being open) that we listen and embrace them as an individual in Christ, rather than condemning their choices and wanting them to be just like us. It would be so boring if everyone was walking around just alike. Take a moment an see the people from a fresh perspective! Just a thought ~ Shannon
I am secure in Christ because:
Romans 8:1 I am free from condemnation.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:28 I am assured that God works for my good in all circumstances.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
