Dissertation - 100% verses 70%

Well, here we are! My husband has finally completed the last chapter of his dissertation and is now in revision mode! I can't wait until he walks on December 15th ! We have had a full ten years of dissertation work! We honestly don't know what life really looks like with out it hanging over our heads! It's been a battle of time and who is more important his work or his family! All of this has made us strong and maybe a little more crazy! Hence the fact of my blog title Schizo family! We have spent many years being reactive to life. Up until about three to four years ago when some one sat us down and said we needed to work on being proactive! Made the biggest difference! Helped us be more calm with our family activities and all we HAD to be doing. Taking the time to schedule things 100% out, rather than just 70% of the way out. Scheduling things only 70% gives to much room for questions and assumptions. Giving much more room for error and conflict. While we miss the mark at times, so thankful for this tool in our life tool box! More to come.....run low on sittable time these days! - Shannon
